HIB Wood Insulation Blocks selected for Design a Community's Future

Grand Rapids, MI, —SIGA Green Technologies, announced today that the HIB building blocks have been selected as one of the three green wall systems to be incorporated into the Eco-Home design completion in “Greenstown” Greensburg, KS.

Background

At 9:45 pm on May 4th, 2007 an EF5 tornado leveled the rural town of Greensburg, Kansas. Just days after the storm, the community came together and decided to rebuild sustainable, striving to become a model green town for the future. http://www.greensburggreentown.org/

On May 4^th, 2009, the 2 anniversary after the tornado, freegreen www.freegreen.com is starting an architectural design competition for Greensburg Greentown. The goal is to use non traditional green building materials to built affordable eco-homes.

HIB is the only natural and wood based building material in the competition. Today’s challenging needs for green and sustainable building construction are address with the HIB home design, assuring highest comfort of living and energy efficiency.

Wind and earthquake resistance has been confirmed by the University in Karlsruhe, Germany. HIB building blocks have won the innovation awards of the state of Baden-Wuertemberg, Germany and a number other awards. www.hib-system.com
